Why do I need a website?
If you have a business you need a website. Most people have internet service directly into their homes and it has become the biggest marketing and advertising method now in the United States - and it is quickly spreading around the globe. It is a way to reach out to potential customers as well as maintain a good relationship with your current clientele by providing upcoming events and specials as well as basic information about your company, products and services in an easily accessible manner. What is a domain name and hosting service and how much will it cost?
A domain name is the website’s address (also known as URL) that is typed into the top part of your internet web browser. Web addresses are hosted on servers, which are computers that are dedicated to keeping your website connected to the internet so that other computers can make a request to send the domain name’s website. A good analogy is that a domain is the address that is associated with a house and that the hosting is the property that the house actually sits on. The house itself would be the website that Firetree Graphics designs and develops. A domain name can be anything as long as it is not already taken. We use Godaddy.com to host your website because of the online security they provide. The domain name and hosting are $67.57 a year through GoDaddy.com. The basic setup cost for your website covers this cost for one year. To continue running the site after the first year you can either pay GoDaddy.com directly for them to continue hosting and providing the domain name or pay Firetree Graphics to renew the service for you.
What is the difference between a website and a webpage?
A website is a group of web pages that are grouped together under the same domain name. For example, our website is Firetree Graphics but we have different web pages such as: “home”, “contact us” and “services”.
How much will it cost to maintain my website?
After your site is setup and designed you can have Firetree Graphics update it for you if you have additional products, services or upcoming events for a fee of $12 an hour. Some businesses have seasonal changes or begin to offer new services and products that were not offered at the time of setup, while others will not need to make any changes at all. If you need additional web pages added to your website we can do that for $25 per additional page. You can also have your site marketed online through grass-roots marketing techniques or paid online advertising (Google Adwords) for this same price.

What is Search Engine Optimization and why do I need it?

Knowledge such as: optimizing a keyword in the H1 tag, enhancing the title tag, keyword density, keyword proximity, internal linking with proper anchor text and optimal use of Flash and Javascript are important to your site and must be thought out thoroughly. We know the search engines like certain standards, so we use them.
What is the difference between paid online advertising and SEO techniques?
Companies such as Google, Yahoo and MSN sell their best advertising space at the top and on the right-hand side of their webpages. We can help you create a budget and chose keywords that should be used to pull up your website when a user searches for certain terms. The websites that are pulled up on the search engines under the paid advertising space are free, but it often takes a lot of work to get your site to jump ahead of your competitors in this free-site ranking. The search engines of course use keyword relevancy and density but there are also a lot of “grass roots” marketing techniques to help your site gain even higher placement. These techniques include long-term campaigns to boost your search engine results: listing your site in relevant directories, getting links back to your own site through leveraging your products and services with other websites and blogs and placing banner advertisements on other sites through leveraging, buying or “piggybacking” your advertisement (a reciprocal agreement between your site and another site owner). Yes, you can pay with a credit card by asking for an invoice through Paypal. We would prefer, however, a check made out to company owner, Kristen M. Garcia.
